The Downtown Simcoe Carnival ‘OneLove’ Parade and Street Festival is returning to Simcoe today.

“What began as an event to show appreciation for the migrant workers has evolved into an event for all cultures, including locals,” organizer Tanya Vanrooy said in a media release. “The street festival this year focuses on the creative side of Carnivals.”

The street festival, held on Kent Street between Peel and Robinson streets, features music, food, and traditional carnival activities. There is also an art auction. The one-day festival will run until 10 pm

One of the highlights is the parade, which will run along the Sydenham, Norfolk and Robinson streets area of downtown Simceo, starting at 1 pm

Other activities include a ‘meet a friend’ booth where you can practice your Spanish. People can also take part in dance lessons learning dances of different cultures.
