In Helldivers 2, the new update introduced a new weapon that initially caused problems. But as it turns out, the weapon is more practical than expected.
What weapon is it about? It’s about the new RL-77 air-detonation rocket launcher, which caused accidental team kills for the first time. The projectiles were fired by nearby objects such as trees, rocks and even Helldivers’ equipment.
However, this problem was fixed with the new patch from April 29th. The rocket launcher should no longer detonate when fired near equipment and other Helldivers. The radius of action of the missiles has also been reduced.
Even though there were problems with the weapon at the beginning, players have now discovered a way to use this rocket launcher particularly efficiently.

What makes the weapon good? The rocket launcher fires a missile that detonates near a target, scattering a cluster of explosive bomblets.
The RL-77 is particularly effective because it can destroy egg nests with a single shot. Thus, one of the main missions, destroying eggs, becomes an easy game.

The RL-77 has a long range. The loading time is not very short, but you don’t have to aim precisely and you can kill most of the enemies, egg nests and bug nests with one shot. You should make sure to keep your distance so that you don’t accidentally hit yourself.
This weapon is not recommended against opponents like strikers because the loading animation is quite long. The ammunition is also not armor piercing. But the RL-77 can definitely be worth it for smaller and medium-sized enemy groups.
This weapon is worthwhile against strikers: There is now a new primary weapon in Helldivers 2 that even defeats strikers with 2 shots
