A woman in her 30s is seriously injured after falling a total of 17 meters from a lifting crane on a ship onto a quay in Oxelösund, the police say.

According to the police, these are “two falls from a fairly high height”. The woman was conscious when the ambulance arrived at the scene and is now being treated in hospital.

– To quote the ambulance, the woman had an angel’s watch, says Jonas Schånberg, officer on duty at the police.

The accident happened early Sunday afternoon. The vessel in question is registered abroad.

The police have started investigations into the workplace accident and possible cause of bodily harm.
