A Turkish drone has reportedly found what it claims is the wreckage of the helicopter that crashed with Iran’s president on board on Sunday.

This is stated by the state-controlled Turkish news agency Anadolu on platform X.

An image shared by the news agency on X shows an aerial view of a nighttime mountainous landscape and a black circle on what appears to be a hillside.

Anadolu writes that the coordinates of the discovery site have been shared with Iranian authorities.

On Sunday, Iranian state media announced that President Ebrahim Raisi had an accident when his helicopter was forced to make a “hard emergency landing”.

Late in the evening, information came that the helicopter had been found, but that information was later refuted by the Red Crescent.

The helicopter disappeared in a remote mountainous area 60 miles northwest of the capital Tehran and near the border with Azerbaijan.
