B7 Descalzi Europe has difficulty attracting investments

(Finance) – The CEO of Eni, Claudio Descalzistated that theEurope it has some problems attracting investment compared to the United States. “There are issues that need to be addressed to attract investments“, underlined Descalzi speaking at the B7 Summit in Confindustria. “We cannot avoid looking at the market and we must find – he added – a way to attract investments and investors”.

“When we look at investors we have to imagine the future despite there being many constraints and many problems, governments must play their role by deciding and, above all, investing the right resources”, he continued. “The industry does not fear the challengesbut we must be free to invest,” he said.

“In Africa there are 54 different countries with different cultures and languages ​​and we cannot look at Africa as one entity. Before talking about Africa we must know Africa”, recalled the CEO of Eni. “Before thinking about one exchange equally we have to give what we have taken for a hundred years,” he added.

“All other advanced countries produce 75% of emissionswe are the ones who must reduce them, we cannot impose our model on Africa, we must help it to use them renewableto decarbonise, but Africa must also do everything to improve its situation”, he concluded by underlining that we need to “create the conditions for Africa to be stronger”.
