USA University of Michigan consumer confidence falls in August

(Finance) – American consumer confidence is expected to worsen slightly in September.

According to preliminary data fromUniversity of Michiganconsumer sentiment is estimated to have increased to 67.7 points compared to 69.5 points in the month of August, but is higher than the expectations of analysts who expected a level down to 66 points.

In the same period the index on present situation fell to 69.8 points from the previous 75.7 points (expectations were for 75.3 points), while the index on expectations it dropped to 66.3 points from the previous 65.5 (the consensus was 66 points).
