The womens league continues under the command of Espoo

Kiekko-Espoo took advantage of the superiority offered to it and celebrates the championship of the women’s hockey league.

Kiekko-Espoo will continue to be the champion of the women’s hockey league when it defeated HIFK in its home pitch 8–3. (1–1, 3–0, 4–2). The championship was already the 16th for the Espoo team, 14 of which have won under the Blues name.

Kiekko-Espoo won the regular season for the fourth time in a row this season, but lost two matches: both to HIFK. In the finals, the people of Espoo seemed to be poking towards the championship, as it clearly won the first two matches, but in the third and fourth matches HIFK took the lead.

In the fifth and decisive final, progress was made until the end of the second round, until the HIFK kit Krista Parkkonen received a 5 + 20 minute penalty after blocking Kiekko-Espoo Tinja-Mariia Haukijärve in the situation.

The home team didn’t have a long time to go, but hit two goals at a fast pace. Nea Katajamäki shook a 3–1 hit after just over a minute of superiority and twenty seconds later scored Elisa Holopainen.

In situations 1–5, HIFK applied for a reduction even with risk. It got to play superiority and head coach Saara Niemi took the goalkeeper Iina Kuuselan exchange. The risk was not profitable, as Kiekko-Espoo finished the first goal Nelli Laitinen struck empty 6–1.

HIFK still managed to get up Athena Locatellin and Karoliina Rantamäki goals to 3 to 6 and then applied again without a goalkeeper reduction. However, that did not help, as Kiekko-Espoo scored two more goals.
