It was at twenty past seven on Friday evening that the police received an alert about an unknown bag on a train traveling from Uppsala to Sala. When the train arrived at Sala, there was a patrol on site, and it was established that no one on the train felt the bag.
– At the moment, we do not know what kind of bag it is. We’re taking the safe side before the unsafe and let the train in question remain in Sala, says Pelle Vamstad at the police in the central region.
Taken to a collection point
At the same time, the travelers are taken to a collection point nearby where staff from Sala municipality will be on site. What the police describe as a “proper” area at the Sala travel center has also been cordoned off.
– It is our opinion that there is no risk to the public as long as our barriers are respected.
