Once a cop, always a cop. This apparently also applies to Eddie Murphy as Axel Foley from the Beverly Hills Cop series: This summer, after a 30-year film break, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. is in the starting blocks as part 4. Netflix has now announced an exact start date: According to a press release, the action sequel will be released on July 3, 2024 appear.

After his wild time in Beverly Hills, Axel Foley (Murphy) retired and became a father. As but his daughter (Taylour Paige) is in danger, the Detroit law enforcement officer turns again to his colleagues from Los Angeles. And a wild ride through one of the richest neighborhoods in California begins.

Axel F. and the Beverly Hills Cop series became a cult from the first part, Beverly Hills Cop – I’ll definitely solve the case in 1984. Two more sequels followed. Since 1994, however, there has been radio silence on the screen. Plans for an Axel F. series without Murphy in a leading role were buried in the mid-2010s.
Murphy isn’t the only Beverly Hills Cop veteran returning for part 4: Judge Reinhold, John Ashton and Stranger Things star Paul Reiser will once again be at his side as colleagues. New additions include Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Kevin Bacon.
