According to AFP, a building that housed, among other things, a fashion school collapsed in the explosion. Earlier, AFP reported on the collapse of two buildings.

An investigation into the causes of the explosion has been started immediately.

Parisian prosecutor Laure Beccuau says that prosecutors hope that people who were slightly injured in the explosion can help in the investigation to get an idea of ​​what happened.

According to the mayor of the fifth district, it was a gas explosion, but other authorities have not confirmed the claim.
