On Tuesday, the Bragdguldet will be awarded – this after a successful year for Sweden.
But the desirable price also creates debates.
– It is unfair, says biathlete Stina Nilsson.
Over the years, countless Swedish superstars have received the Bragdguldet. Last year, the Swedish ski jumping team was awarded with the award after taking home a historic Olympic gold in Japan and Tokyo.
Strong candidates
2022 has been a year lined with successes for Sweden. Armand Duplantis has broken world records in pole vaulting, Nils van der Poel has won double Olympic gold in ice skating and Sarah Hector took Olympic gold in slalom. To name a few of the Swedish achievements.

All three are strong candidates, but the biathlete Stina Nilsson however, has another favorite to bring home the Bragdgulet. More specifically, the Swedish women’s relay team consisting of Lynn Persson, Mona Brorsson, Hanna Öberg and Elvira Öberg.
– I was there and saw that performance, so I clearly think they deserve to win that award, says Stina Nilsson to Expressen.

“It is unfair”
Nilsson believes that it is difficult to compare achievements when it comes to so many different sports, and she takes Armand Duplantis and Nils van der Poel as examples.
– It is very difficult now when you line up such achievements. It is unfair to compare achievements. I can think our women’s relay team is worth it but so are Nils and Armand. But I think just the fact that our women’s team is highlighted in this context is good enough, she says.
