PNRR, from CdP and Ministry of Tourism 150 million for tourist accommodation assets

CDP Fitch confirms the ratings Stable outlook

(Finance) – Start a process of enhancement and redevelopment of tourist-accommodation properties to make the sector more competitive, particularly affected by the pandemic crisis of recent years: today – with this objective – starts call for the selection of at least 12 properties on the national territory from acquire and restructure by 31 December 2025.

The intervention is part of the project PNRR which aims at valorisation, to the competitiveness and protection of the Italian tourist-hospitality heritage, even in economically more disadvantaged areas or in secondary areas. The objective, as mentioned, is to start a process of relaunching the sector aimed at increasing the tourist offer through the redevelopment of hotel facilities, with particular attention to sustainability, digitalisation and energy efficiency.

“With this measure, the government wants to be close to the operators so as to favor the relaunch of the sector and facilitate the recovery of tourism. Recovery also certified by the recent report of World Economic Forum which raises the index relating to the tourist offer of Italy by two points, thanks also to the ability of entrepreneurs in the sector to know how to adapt services to a constantly evolving demand. It should be emphasized – added the minister – that participation is also open to other institutional investors “, said the Minister of Tourism, Massimo Garavaglia.

“Tourism represents a driving sector for our countryand, particularly affected by the pandemic and the complex international scenario. CDP, in line with the 2022-2024 Strategic Plan, it intends to provide its contribution by directing public and private investments in the best possible way to support the competitiveness of Italian hospitality businesses. Thanks to the resources of the PNRR and the collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism with this initiative, a revitalization process begins that will have a positive impact on the economy and employment, especially for young people “, underlines the CEO of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, Dario Scannapieco.

In detail, the notice – concludes the note – “is aimed at public and private owners of properties with the category ‘tourist-accommodation’ or similar who must be in possession of the eligibility requirements and all the documentation required by the selection procedure. The submission of applications it can only be done through the dedicated platform by 12.00 on 31 August 2022 “.
