Athletics stars from Finland and around the world will be seen at the Paavo Nurmi Games in Turku on Tuesday. Here are five interesting species selections.

At the end of the story is the exact schedule of the games.

Women’s moukari at 16:40

Women’s moukari is on paper the hardest of the evening’s sports, as it includes the entire top three of last year’s World Championships Brooke Andersen (United States), Camryn Rogers (Canada) and Janee’ Cash register (United States).

In May, World Championship gold medalist Andersen competed as the third woman in the 80-meter club, when she measured an arc of 80.17 meters. The result is the top result of the season.

Finns are included Silja Kosonen, Krista Tervo and Suvi Koskinen.

Kosonen has thrown the best of the trio this season. On Saturday, in the Tour de Hammer competition in Tammela, he knocked all six of his throws over 70 meters for the first time in his career. Kosonen’s best throw of 73.50 is his new record and the under-23 Finnish record.

Finnish record holder Tervo has thrown 71.86 this season. World record holder, Poland Anita Wlodarczyk dropped out of the race at the last minute.

Men’s pole vault at 16:44

The big advance favorite in the men’s pole vault is the 23-year-old from the United States KC Lightfootwho posted the third-best score of 607 at the beginning of June.

Of the current jumpers ahead of Lightfoot in the ME statistics, there is only superior Armand Duplantis (621). The second result is Sergei Bubkan in names (614).

– I am now the man of 607, because finally I am not suffering from injuries. I’ve been injured for the past couple of years. It has been really difficult to jump off the pole and give one hundred percent of yourself when your performance is limited, Lightfoot told Urheilu on the eve of the Games.

The six-meter men are also from Poland Piotr Lisekwho is the World Cup silver medalist from 2017. He has two World Cup bronzes.

The Olympic champion will participate in the race Renaud Lavillenien brother Valentinewho is the silver medalist of the EC Indoor Championships from 2021.

Among the Finns, there are European Championship finalists Urho Kujanpää, Tommi Holttinen and Juho Alassaari.

Women’s 400m hurdles at 19:14

The most interesting name of the women’s fenced track circuit is Viivi Lehikoinen, who ran a new Finnish record in Huelva, Spain on June 6. Lehikoinen won the race with a time of 54.40, which put him second in European statistics.

Lehikoinen will be joined on the line by a bunch of seven foreigners, including the United States Cassandra Tatella (54.01), of Jamaica With Shiann Salmon 53.82) and Great Britain With Jessie Knight (54.09) is a personal record higher than the Finnish one. Lehikoinen has the best time of the group this season.

– Miracles are not done in June. Trying to gain self-confidence and certainty. In July, before the Kaleva Games and the World Championships, there will be a little longer training, Lehikoinen said after his record.

Men’s 100 meters, heats at 18:22, finals at 19:26

In Turku’s evening, there are four men who ran 100 meters under ten seconds. They are the United States Cravont Charleston (record this season ran 9.91), Ghana Benjamin Azamati (record 9.90, this season 9.99), of Great Britain Reece Prescod (record 9.93, this season 9.99) and Japan Abdul Hakim Sani Brown (record 9.97, this season 10.13), who is the 2019 4x100m bronze medalist.

Among the Finns, there is a man from SE Samuli Samuelsson, Viljami Kaasalainen, Valtteri Louko, Riku Illukka and Eino Vuori.

– A shockingly tough race is coming. You have to run hard to get to the finals, Samuelsson predicts on Sunday after ignoring the SE result.

Women’s 100-meter hurdles, preliminaries at 7:50 p.m., finals at 8:54 p.m.

The women’s 100-meter hurdles final will be seen as the final event. There is a tough Finnish quartet Reetta Hurske, Annimari Korte, Nooralotta Neziri and Lotta Harala.

Hurske, the reigning European indoor track champion, set a new Finnish record of 12.70 at the Jyväskylä GP last week. Korte scored 12.83 over the weekend in Espoo, which is the former SE woman’s best result in three years.

Harala has run his record this season in 13.03 and Neziri in 13.04.

The strongest name in the competition is Poland Pia Skrzyszowska, who won the EC gold in the sport last year. The woman’s record is a wild 12:51.
