Missing nine-year-old in Gothenburg found

The nine-year-old boy has been missing from his home in Hisings Backa in Gothenburg since 2pm this afternoon.

He is interested in buses and likes to hang out at playgrounds, the police wrote on their website, while appealing to the public for tips.

– He was dressed in a gray long-sleeved hooded sweatshirt, green trousers with a football mark and white shoes, says Peter Aldersson, press officer at the police in the West region.

Recognized from the media

The police began a search operation for the missing boy and contacted, among other things, public transport and security guards in town.

Just after 11 pm in the evening, the police confirm that the boy has been found.

– He was found by a woman who recognized him from the media. She then called the police and we are currently taking him back to his home. He is in good health, says Martin Hallberg, officer on duty at the police.

The police do not suspect any crime.

– It was very wise of the woman to dare to act in that situation, and nice that she felt such responsibility as a citizen, says Martin Hallberg.
