Mexico hosted the first Latin American summit on migration on Sunday, in Palenque, in the state of Chiapas. Twelve nations were summoned. Neither the United States nor the UN were invited. The initiative aimed to define a common position on the solutions to resolve the migration crisis. In August, 83,000 people were arrested in the territory according to the National Migration Institute, an absolute record.
