In FIFA 23 Ultimate Team, some special cards have suddenly become significantly weaker and now a real top card in particular is hardly playable. But what happened here?
When new special cards appear in FUT, they usually stay the same or even get stronger if they are dynamic card objects. But currently some non-dynamic cards have, curiously, gotten worse.
This card is about: Some of the new Centurions cards are affected, but the new, actually incredibly strong, Ibrahimovic card (90) in particular stands out because it is now so bad that you can no longer play a full match with it.
And that is also reflected in the price of the card. At the beginning Ibrahimovic cost a proud 4 million coins and now (less than 6 days later) the price has fallen rapidly and is currently 2.6 million coins.
This is what happened to the Ibrahimovic card: The Ibrahimovic card has suddenly received a serious downgrade. Although no differences can be seen on the stats of the map, if you look at the detailed values in the game or web app, the changes become clear.
The current stats currently (as of January 18 at 1:30 p.m.) differ significantly from the release values.
The following stats are suddenly worse than when the card was introduced:
You can compare the values here. On the right you can see the values as they should be and on the left the stats that Ibrahimovic currently has in FUT.
However, not all values have gotten worse, some have even received improvements. Better are: Dribbling +1, Ball Control +4, Aggression +11, Strength +6 and Calmness +6.
But such a large balance and stamina nerf simply can’t be compensated for with other buffs. Such a fast player, who is constantly in sprints, shouldn’t last long with a 61 stamina and has to be replaced by the second half at the latest.
These cards are also affected: But not only Zlatan Ibrahimovic has strange new values. On reddit, abbytartar noticed further stat changes for the following players:
These have mostly received nerfs and a few buffs. But not to the extent of Ibrahimovic.
Why do the cards suddenly change their values?
It is not yet possible to say why the cards are suddenly receiving buffs and nerfs. There is also no statement from EA Sports. But it should probably be a bug, because such strong downgrades just don’t seem intentional. Especially in the endurance area of Ibrahimovic.
