Nicolas Maurel presents the Butterfly Garden of Digne-les-Bains, which is home to more than 130 species of daytime butterflies. To fight against the disappearance of butterflies, his credo is to “cultivate plant diversity to cultivate entomological diversity”.

A spa inflatable Intex allows you to take full advantage of a jacuzzi in the garden without undertaking any work or even using the slightest tool. Composed of an inflatable structure in triple-thickness laminated PVC and an external control unit, the different inflatable spa models (round, square or rectangular) can accommodate 4, 6 or 8 people. If it takes less than an hour to assemble and connect the inflatable structure, it is advisable to have two people to handle it.

In order not to damage the PVC, it is recommended not to use sharp tools (scissors, cutter, etc.) to open the packaging boxes. To take full advantage of your Intex inflatable spa, choose a place out of sight, preferably avoiding full sun. A precaution that preserves the water quality and that of PVC. Finally, make sure that the ground is perfectly flat and without visible stones.

Preparations before inflating an inflatable spa

Among the accessories delivered with a spa inflatable Intex, a control unit, a floor mat and an inflatable cover ensure the operation of the jacuzzi, the protection of the base of the structure and the water. The control unit also allows the PVC structure to be inflated in two steps. movements. The inflation time for an inflatable hot tub is approximately 3 minutes. There is therefore no need for a pump and even less a compressor, the use of which is prohibited by the manufacturer.

  • lay out the floor mat, taking care to place the side without bubbles towards the sky;
  • place the inflatable structure on the floor mat, drain plug to an open area;
  • position and connect the control unit to a 220 V socket;
  • connect the supplied inflation hose to the outlet ofair of the control unit. Depending on the model, the pipe clips on. Pay attention to the direction of assembly;
  • open the cap located at the bottom of the inflatable structure;
  • check the tightness of the pressure relief valve with the wrench provided;
  • connect the inflation hose by making a quarter turn;
  • switch on the control unit then press the “air bubble” button;
  • stop inflation when the top of the structure is firm.

Inflate the inflatable spa

The new models inflatable spas are equipped with a pressure relief valve which allows the overflow of air to be evacuated (between 0.103 and 0.172 bar). Otherwise, check the pressure using the manometer provided. While filling the spa (with warm but not hot water, 40°C max) prepare the cover.

  • unfold the cover;
  • open the inflation valve;
  • connect the inflation hose;
  • inflate the cover.

Reinflate a leaking inflatable spa

Regularly check the air pressure of the structure and if necessary, top up as explained above. However, while it is normal for the structure and cover of an inflatable spa to deflate due to differences in temperature between day and night, in the event of an air leak, the cause must be identified quickly. The latter may be due to the inflation valve to be tightened or defective. But the most likely is the presence of a small hole. To determine its position:

  • prepare a mixture of water and soap liquid in a bottle or bucket;
  • apply it moss soapy water on the outer wall of the structure with a sponge and work in small areas.

Repairing a deflating spa

The appearance of a large bubble locates the air leak. To plug a hole, the manufacturer delivers a ready-to-use repair patch with the inflatable spa.

  • rinse off the previously applied foam thoroughly;
  • dry the PVC so that the glue sticks perfectly;
  • remove the protective film from the patch, then apply it firmly;
  • smooth the patch to remove any air bubbles;
  • reinflate the spa as before.

Maintaining an inflatable spa

Like everything garden equipment, an inflatable spa, it takes care. It starts with a daily check of the water quality in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.

  • inspect and check the filter cartridge daily;
  • check and clean the electrolytic cell;
  • replace a quarter of the volume of water every week.

Note that it is advisable, depending on the region, to renew all the water at least once a month or every two months at most by draining the inflatable structure. If the inside of the latter is dirty, only use a soft sponge and a type product dishwashing liquid.

  • gently rub the walls of the inflatable spa;
  • rinse thoroughly with clear water before refilling the spa;
  • regularly clean the cover.

What you must remember

  • Do not drag the inflatable structure so as not to tear it;
  • The electrical connection of the control unit is made on a line protected by a 16 A branch circuit breaker;
  • Inflate the structure of the spa preferably in the morning or at the end of the day.
