House manufacturer Obos notifies another 200 employees

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

– In the short term, we are forced to make this type of adaptation as we, like the entire industry, have suffered a sharp decline in sales since six months ago, says Joakim Henriksson, CEO of Obos Sweden to Vetlanda-Posten.

In Myresjö, there are 50 civil servants and 70 collective employees who are now notified. In Vrigstad, where, among other things, the Smålandsvillan is manufactured, there are 80 collective employees who are affected by the notification.

Non-existent sales

Sales began to decline this summer and during the fourth quarter the company’s sales were largely non-existent. According to the company’s CEO Joakim Henriksson, they will have high pressure in their factories until the summer, but then it will be reduced and go from 1,400 to 700 houses produced each year.

At the same time as the announcements, the company is investing SEK 1.2 billion in a new modern factory in Vrigstad and a modernization in Myresjö.
