Gustav Nyquist extends his fine scoring streak in the NHL – with a decisive goal last night

Nashville’s Gustav Nyquist scored a goal as Winnipeg was defeated 3-2 in tonight’s NHL ice hockey.

The goal was his third of the season and came in a numerical advantage in the second period, assisted by Philip Forsberg. The 34-year-old has thus scored in the last eight games he has played.

Nyquist, new to Nashville after signing a two-year deal this summer and amassing 15 points so far, scored the 3-0 goal to secure the club’s margin to hold off Winnipeg’s push.

One that is significantly better in the points league is Connor McDavid. Edmonton’s star has scored nine points in two games — now a goal and four assists in an 8-2 win over Anaheim — and has climbed from 108th to 13th after a rough start.
