Fire at Valley Heights School causes 25000 damage

Damage is estimated at $25,000 after a small fire Aug. 5 at Valley Heights secondary school in Langton.

Four stations from the Norfolk County Fire Department responded to the fire shortly after 3 pm

“Due to the fire alarm system functioning properly, the fire department was quickly notified, allowing firefighters to gain control of the fire and effectively limiting the damage,” Katie Ballantyne, community safety officer, said in a news release.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
