Covid, new leap in hospitalizations: the FIASO report

Covid 48255 new cases in 24 hours Down the infections

(Finance) – One more leap in Covid hospitalizations which grew by 19.5% in one week. The survey of 29 November carried out among the sentinel hospitals belonging to the Fiaso network shows a significant increase in patients with Sars-Cov-2 infection. This is the second week of double-digit growth: an increase of 24% had already been recorded in the report dated November 23rd. In particular, patients in ordinary Covid wards are increasing by 20% while intensive care is increasing smaller amount equal to 9%.

65% of hospital admissions are of patients with covid, i.e. those who arrived for the treatment of other pathologies but were incidentally found positive for the pre-hospitalization swab, 34% are hospitalized for Covid, i.e. they have developed pulmonary respiratory syndromes typical of Sars-Cov-2 infection. However, this figure is stable compared to the previous survey. The trend of hospitalizations with respiratory and pulmonary syndromes for the unvaccinated worsens, rising over 28% in ordinary wards and over 30% in intensive care.

In resuscitations moreover, it should be noted the considerable difference in age of more than 10 years between vaccinated and non-vaccinated people whose average age is decidedly young (about 60 years) and in the 100% of the cases are patients, both vaccinated and unvaccinated, frail or suffering from other pathologies.

Altogether they are 22 patients under 18 hospitalized for or with Covid, in the four pediatric hospitals and in the pediatric wards of the Fiaso sentinel hospitals. This week there are three children, in the range between 0-6 months, in resuscitation for Covid, while for several weeks this ward it was devoid of patients with respiratory and pulmonary syndromes.
