(Finance) – In many countries of the Union, including Italy, they are underway protests from some representatives of the agricultural world. The common denominator of the grievances is the contestation of PAC – Common Agricultural Policy – and the “Green Deal” applied to agriculture.

Also on this occasion, Confagricoltura, as stated in the note, confirms its commitment to bringing the issues raised to the competent bodies in Europe. The Confederation, in fact, shares the national Government’s attention to farmers’ requests, but hopes for more incisive and urgent responses from the Union.

In this sense, the Confagricoltura board, which recently met at Palazzo della Valle, has decided to launch a series of initiatives in Brussels to ask that farmers’ requests be addressed with greater promptness, to protect a leading sector of our economy which suffers the economic consequences of a highly unstable international scenario.

The initiatives already launched could lead to a first result in the next few days, reports Confagricoltura, with irenewal of the exemption to the obligation to allocate to part of the arable land for non-productive purposes.

Confagricoltura’s commitment aims to achieve the following objectives: ensuring an adequate income for agricultural producers; improve environmental sustainability without production cuts; promote the spread of technological innovations to face the challenges of climate change, safeguard Italian and European products against competition not aligned with the Union rules for food safety, the protection of natural resources and work, well-being some animals.

The Confederation announces an Extraordinary Assembly in Brussels, convened for February 26, during which the Association’s vision on the future of agriculture and the new CAP will be illustrated.
