Bird flu alert in Poland! 37 thousand ducks will be culled

Bird flu was found on a farm in the village of Oszczeklin in the town of Kalisz in western Poland. Regional veterinarian Milosz Bakowski stated that 29,000 ducks in the farm were decided to be culled with gas, and that 8 thousand ducks in another farm in Dabrowa village, 1 kilometer from the village in question, will be culled as a precaution.

While the teams affiliated to the Kalisk Directorate of Agriculture started the culling of the ducks, the poultry farms in the 10 kilometer radius of the village of Oszczeklin were banned from selling poultry without the permission of the regional veterinarian or buying new poultry to enlarge the herd.

Since the beginning of the year, 28 bird flu cases have been encountered in the villages of Kalisk town, which hosts the most poultry farms with about 300 farms in Poland. (UAV)
