Another 14 environmental activists have been detained after occupying the peat pit in Bredaryd in Värnamo municipality earlier in the week, reports P4 Jönköping.

Over the weekend, the environmental activists from the Restore Wetlands network were arrested on suspicion of gross illegal trespass and gross damage.

Among other things, the activists have filled in the ditches. The purpose of the action was to restore nature, and to protest against the extraction of peat.

Already, two climate activists have been detained by the Jönköping district court. Thus, a total of 16 people have been detained after the protest.
