Animal cruelty trial postponed – unclear when it will be

It was just over two years ago that the county government confiscated his approximately 500 cows, because they were considered neglected. The farmer continued as an egg producer and when 16 cows from a nearby farm escaped from his paddock, he is said to have picked them up and driven them to his own farm.

The trial was due to start this week – but at the last minute it was postponed. The defense has since submitted new information and called new witnesses.

– There was no possibility of starting the trial then, says prosecutor Linda Karlsson.

It is now unclear when the trial can begin.
