Last week, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) went to the United States to participate when the accession documents to NATO were handed over to the American government. He brought home both a NATO membership – and a gift.

To congratulate Sweden on its entry, senators Mitch McConnell, Jeanne Shaheen and Thom Tillis handed over two copies of one of the Senate’s voter lists, in connection with the Prime Minister’s visit.

– They gave me two copies of a memorial gift, said Ulf Kristersson at a press conference on Monday, where he showed off the gift, among other things.

– This is the voter list from the vote when the American Senate voted for the ratification of Sweden. A historical document in itself.

The second copy of the voter’s list was handed over to Social Democrats party leader Magdalena Andersson, who was also present at the press conference and who was prime minister when Sweden’s application process to NATO began.
