Aleksej Pushkov answers Micael Bydén: Dreaming of war

The Russian threat looms and Sweden should be ready.
The war plays out in Russia.
Sometimes it seems that some Swedish military almost dream of war,” writes top politician Aleksej Pushkov.

Sweden’s prime minister, defense minister, commander-in-chief and minister for civil defense have all conveyed the same clear message these days: Sweden and the Swedes should get ready for war.

– On an individual level, you have to prepare mentally, says ÖB Micael Bydén.

“Citizenship is ultimately about being able to defend Sweden with a weapon in hand, with life as an investment,” says Ulf Kristersson.

The words from the national conference People and Defense have echoed around the world. Not least in Russia.

Top politician Aleksej Pushkov has commented on Bydén’s words on his social media.

“He is eager to go ‘from words to action’. The fingers really itch,” writes Pushkov Telegram.

Propaganda and nonsense

According to the Russian politician, Sweden is one of the first countries in Europe to deal with this level of what he calls anti-Russian propaganda.

“Russian submarines have been fishing there for many years, and for some this has become the main occupation in life. For many years they have been telling how Russia is allegedly ‘preparing to conquer Gothenburg’ and other nonsense. This is apparently how they try to give Sweden a geopolitical significance that it does not have,” he writes.

“Sometimes it seems that some Swedish military personnel, like journalists, almost dream of war. Apparently, they cannot calm down after the defeat at Poltava…”, Pushkov continues.
