A brawl broke out at the funeral of the Palestinian female reporter Sirin Abu Akile, who was killed by Israeli soldiers. During the intervention of the Israeli police against those who attended the funeral, the coffin containing Akile’s body fell to the ground. The body of Abu Akile was transported to the morgue again and loaded into the hearse.

ISRAEL POLICE INTERVENED

The Israeli police did not allow the body of the Palestinian female reporter of Al Jazeera television, Şirin Ebu Akile, who was killed by Israeli soldiers during the raid in Jenin in the occupied West Bank, to be carried on their shoulders, and intervened in the funeral with batons, rubber-covered bullets and sound bombs.

Hundreds of journalists and activists began to gather from the early hours of the morning at the Saint Joseph French Hospital in occupied East Jerusalem, where Abu Akile’s body was found. Israeli police blocked the roads in the surrounding area, preventing Palestinians from reaching this area.

The Israeli police came to the door of the hospital close to the removal of Abu Akile’s body from the morgue. The Israeli police did not allow the body to be carried on foot. While the people who attended the funeral were carrying Abu Akile’s coffin to the hospital door, a scuffle broke out with the Israeli police and those who attended the funeral.

While the coffin of the murdered Palestinian female journalist Şirin Ebu Akile was advancing with dozens of Palestinian flags on her shoulders, the Israeli police, including horsemen, intervened in the funeral with batons, sound bombs and rubber-covered bullets. Paramedics treated the injured.

Abu Akile’s body was carried back to the morgue on the shoulders during the intervention of the Israeli police. After the Israeli police waited for a while in front of the morgue, the coffin was loaded into the hearse.

The Israeli police set up a security cordon around the hearse and do not allow those who want to walk with the coffin to approach.
