In just a few days, the Swedish Armed Forces, all A-funds and the municipality of Norrköping, among others, have been exposed to IT attacks. The serious cyber attacks have not yet been completely averted.
Both the municipality of Norrköping and the IT supplier Softronic are working feverishly to investigate the attacks and to try to minimize the damage. The municipality of Norrköping has gone into so-called staff mode and is preparing to be able to work completely without IT support.
Reminds of previous hacker attack
The IT supplier Softronic has set up a so-called war room to deal with what it calls a serious attack. The company has many government agencies and other socially important operations among its more than 600 customers that could potentially be harmed. It is reminiscent of an earlier hacker attack called Cloud Hopper where many hundreds of companies were attacked via their IT provider.
– I think it is extremely important to actively work with cyber security in society, because this type of activity will become more common and more sophisticated, says Charlotte Eriksson, CEO of Softronic.
