After his visit to the US, Zelenskyi was cautiously optimistic about the continuation of US aid.
However, he stated that he knows how to distinguish between words and actions.
Zelenskyi visited the United States after Republicans blocked the passage of a $60 billion aid package for Ukraine in Congress. Republicans demanded that the aid be approved in exchange for changes to immigration policy.
The President of Ukraine met with both Democratic and Republican congressmen in Washington on Tuesday.
He also met with President Joe Biden, who assured that the United States will support Ukraine as long as it can. According to Biden, the defeat of Ukraine would encourage Russian President Vladimir Putin and other potential aggressors in the world.
