At 00:16 on New Year’s Day, police were sent to Järnforsen in Hultsfred municipality after an alarm about a woman in her 50s who allegedly pointed a weapon-like object at people celebrating the new year.
– It must have happened outdoors in connection with a New Year’s celebration with both adults and children on site, says Evelina Olsson, press spokesperson in the South police region.
The police state that it is a weapon.
– It is a weapon, but we cannot say at the moment if it is, so to speak, a sharp weapon or an air gun or the like, she says.
The woman is said to have also uttered threats and was arrested by the police on the spot. She is now under arrest on suspicion of aggravated weapons offense and aggravated unlawful threat. No one should have been physically injured, according to information from the police.
