Zlatan has always had a penchant for fast cars – and bought the first one already as a teenager. Now he tells when he drove it for the first time, and gassed away from the police.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is truly one of Sweden’s greatest athletes. He has been constantly on the biggest stage for over 20 years, and was in his best years one of the world’s absolute best players.
First car
The football star has also published a number of books about his life, both before and during his career. He is also currently working on a feature film about his upbringing and early years as a player – which is a success at the moment.
What has been clear in Zlatan’s books, and what he has told the Swede on other occasions, is his enormous love for the worst cars. He owns several exclusive cars, and has such close ties with the company Ferrari that he received one of their latest roaring cars as a birthday present last autumn.
And the interest in cars came early. Ibrahimovic says that he bought the first car of the more exclusive product already as a teenager.
“It’s not good…”
– When you were 18 or 19 and you came from my area, the first thing you wanted was a cool car. I bought a Porsche Turbo with my last money, and even borrowed for the last part, says Zlatan and continues:
– I drove around, fast, because I loved the adrenaline rush and suddenly the police were after me. Do you think I stayed, Zlatan asks the host:
– No, you did not, he says with a laugh.
– I did not. I drove until I came to a tunnel under the highway and waited there until they drove past me. These are events I like, but I do not say that it is good, but where I come from, they were looking for that adrenaline, says Zlatan.
