Football: Häcken’s Filippa Curmark on the penalty situation that decided the final in the Swedish Cup: “Not hands”

Hecken had lined up chances in the match, including a post hit and a ball that was cleared on the goal line.

The home favorite poured on and put great pressure on Piteå’s goal.

But in the 95th minute, when the match looked like going to extra time, Piteå’s Emma Viklund scored the match’s only goal on a penalty.

A cross from the left wing was headed by Josefin Johansson straight at Filippa Curmark’s hand, and the referee pointed directly to the penalty spot.

– The ball comes, she stands half a meter from me and pulls a header. I’m just trying to cover my face. It went quickly, but I don’t think it’s hands, says Curmark afterwards.

SVT’s expert Hanna Marklund stated on air:

– She has her hand up in a position where it shouldn’t be.

This is the third year in a row that Häcken has lost the cup final. Defender Josefine Rybrink is tired of all the silver.

– These are the moments when football is at its worst. I’m so sick of all the silver. It’s tough mentally and feels like shit right now, she says.
