What is the “looping” method?
This method, quite simple, consists of keeping the same teacher for several years in a row. And this technique would help students progress, with studies to back it up.
When you think about it, having the same teacher who follows the child over several years has different advantages: the teacher, over time, knows his student better, he can therefore target his strengths and weaknesses more easily. While some people may remain skeptical of the benefits of the “looping” method, several studies have analyzed the technique and concluded that it improves students’ academic results, but also their behavior in class and outside of school. Beyond an impact on the students themselves, the method would therefore have effects on the classmates of these children.
Rising results in mathematics, reading and writing
Concerning the impact of this method on children’s academic results, another American study shows that students obtained an improvement in their results in mathematics, reading, writing and reading. As a bonus, their vocabulary was enriched.
According to scientists who have studied the method, it would allow all students to make progress regardless of their gender and the social background of their parents. In France, the latest results of the Pisa ranking show an unprecedented drop in the level of mathematics among students, a level that has never been observed before.
