Visitation zones are criticized in Berlin – Sweden news

According to the agreement between the governing parties and SD, visitation zones are to be introduced in Sweden, where the police are to be given extended powers to search for weapons or explosives, without any concrete suspicion of crime.

Berlin has had similar zones since the 90s, with a focus on drug sales and so-called street crime.

– To control a person in a crime-ridden area, it is enough that I think the person is behaving strangely, says Benjamin Jendro, spokesperson for the police union in Berlin.

But the visitation zones have been met with criticism and accusations of racism.
