The planet Venus will reach its maximum brilliance this Monday, February 7. Her magnitude will be -4.65.

In astronomy, magnitude is the brightness of a star. Magnitude 0 corresponds to a star like Vega in the constellation of the Lyra. The less shiny the objects, the more the value rises in the positive. Conversely, the brighter the objects, the more negative the value. the Sun for example has a magnitude of -27. The Full moon, from -13. The star Siriusthe brightest star after the Sun, has a magnitude of -1.5.

You will therefore not be able to miss the planet Venus, very bright, visible at the level of the southeastern horizon around 6:00 UT.

A clear horizon is desirable.
