Utrecht city council sends asphalt paving plans back to alderman

The Utrecht council is critical of the plans of GroenLinks councilor Lot van Hooijdonk to pave more streets in the city. The councilor wants to replace clinkers with red asphalt to improve the comfort of cyclists. Many parties in the council are not enthusiastic about this. According to them, the asphalt is worse for the environment and the costs for construction and maintenance of red asphalt are much higher.
