US oil production reaches new heights – despite Biden’s environmental goals

The United States is now on the verge of breaking a record in oil production, something that happened most recently in 2019. The dire need for personnel in the oil industry has led to large numbers of companies importing labor.

SVT’s team is on site in North Dakota, where such a company has recruited staff from Ukraine.

– We are in a difficult situation and this could be a good solution, even for Ukrainian workers, says Josh Blackaby, founder of the company Sandpro.

Problematic for Biden’s climate goals

But at the same time that the United States is in an oil boom, President Joe Biden has issued promises about climate change.

– In North Dakota, a reduction in oil production is not on the map, says SVT’s correspondent Fouad Youcefi.

Watch the correspondent tell more about oil production in the United States and what consequences it may have for the President of the United States, in the clip above.
