Ukraine has blown up the tunnel between Russia and China

Ukraine’s security service has carried out a secret attack in Russia.
A tunnel between Russia and China has been blown up by the country’s security services, sources told Politico.
– It is the only serious rail connection between Russia and China, says an official with transparency.

The Ukrainian security service SBU has blown up a rail link between Russia and China on Russian soil, Politico reports, citing Ukrainian sources.

Ukrainian Pravda also has sources stating that the attack took place. The Ukrainian newspaper writes that it was during the night of Thursday that the explosion occurred.

Tunnel deep into enemy territory

A source, a high-ranking official who is supposed to have good insight into the covert operation, states that the SBU carried out the attack in the Russian republic of Buryatia.

Four explosive charges are said to have detonated when a train entered the tunnel.

– It is the only serious railway connection between Russia and China. Currently, this route, which Russia uses, among other things, for military supplies, is paralyzed, says the source.

Details: Two explosions

The Security Service of Ukraine has not publicly confirmed that it is behind the attack. From the Russian side, the explosion has not been commented on, writes Politico.

According to the Ukrainian source, Russian security services are to work at the site.

On Friday, Ukrainska Pravda reports that a second attack must have occurred in the same area. A source the newspaper spoke to said the second explosion was part of the same operation carried out by the Ukrainian security service.

The second explosion is said to have occurred when a train was traveling on a bridge near the tunnel.
