Twitch streamer first shouts “shame on you” and never wants to play again – think again after the new announcement

As is well known, the biggest MMORPG streamer on Twitch always finds something to complain about, especially about Diablo 4. Actually, he has finished with the game. Now he wants to give Diablo 4 another chance, despite many criticisms.

  • Asmongold criticizes the endgame of Diablo 4. The MMORPG streamer sees the repetition of collection tasks and the renewed increase in reputation in the seasons as problematic.
  • On July 24th, Asmongold stated that he was “done” with Diablo 4 and didn’t want to play anymore. An elite opponent hit him so hard that he cursed the game after his character died multiple times.
  • In a July 27 stream, Asmongold criticized the feature that Diablo 4 is supposed to use to get more money from retailers through sales.
  • In the July 29th stream, Asmongold looks at Campfire Chat with the Diablo 4 developers and states, “The issues that players were having have been addressed head-on, and that’s good.”
  • Asmongold’s career and life in 3 minutes – what makes him special?

“I expected a bloody catastrophe and I was wrong”

Why is Asmongold giving the game another chance? In the latest Campfire Chat Stream, the developers talked about the 1.1.1 patch. This will bring many positive changes in Diablo 4 – Asmongold had to admit that recently.

He joins his viewers to watch Campfire Chat on Twitch on July 29th. Afterwards he finds positive words and notes that he will give Diablo 4 another chance. In his stream on Twitch he says from 02:12:10:

That was actually really good. i will be honest I think that was… yes, a lot of people say “W”, yes, people are happy. If they keep doing updates like this then I guess you know… […] Yes, that’s great. I’m happy and I’ll give the game another chance, I’ll see how things develop and how things work out.

[…] I’m a reasonable person. And if I see positive changes, I’m positive, if I don’t see positive changes, I’m negative. That’s how I see it. […] I hate to say this, but to be honest this was actually a lot better than what I expected.

I expected it to be a bloody disaster and I was wrong. […] The issues players were having were addressed head-on, and that’s good.

    “The game is a joke”

What was Asmongold’s criticism? Asmongold recently criticized the feature that is supposed to bring players more money from retailers when they sell something. Instead, the feature, the so-called blessing, increases the cost of enchanting items at merchants in Diablo 4.

He reacts to a video by the streamer DatModz, which illustrates the problem with an example. Before DatModz activated the boon, enchanting cost 7.4 million gold. After increasing the boon to 10%, the cost increased to 8.0 million gold.

Asmongold says, “The people responsible for this game should be ashamed. This is a joke! The game is a joke. There are so many things that are badly programmed and just plain badly designed that… how can you fail in your work in so many enormous and massive ways? Like, for example, one of the main stats in the game doesn’t even work. The cost increases when you buy something designed to reduce the cost.” (via Twitch).

We have also tested enchanting with and without a blessing:

A change to the feature would be useful and necessary, because deactivating the blessing every time you want to enchant items can become quite expensive in the long run.

While it is possible to redistribute the boon, the cost of doing so increases with each level rebalance. First you pay a few hundred gold for redistributing boons. After refunding and reallocating my 3 points twice, redistributing them again would now cost me 300,000 gold. But only for the first boon point, after that it will surely keep increasing.

By the way, when the Campfire Chat ended, Asmongold was playing Diablo 4 and ran through a dungeon. His game crashed after just 10 minutes. He then started Remnant 2 without a word.

The new co-op shooter seems like a good option when you need a break from Diablo 4. MeinMMO editor Benedict says Remnant 2 is exactly the game you should play during breaks like this if you’re looking for a similar kick:

Remnant 2: New Co-op Shooter on Steam, PS5 & Xbox is the game to play if you need a break from Diablo 4
