Tsunami warning issued in the Philippines

The earthquake occurred at 22:37, local time, and according to local media, was felt in the northern part of the island, which is the country’s second largest. The quake occurred at a depth of 32 kilometers.

No major damage has been reported, but a tsunami warning has been issued and the waves are expected to reach the island at midnight local time, at 17:00 Swedish time. Residents of northwestern Mindanao have been advised to leave the immediate coastal area.

The warning is also issued for parts of Indonesia as well as Palau and Malaysia.
