In the TRNC, where there are approximately 210 thousand registered voters, the by-election will be held for a Nicosia deputy due to the resignation of Kudret Özersay, Chairman of the People’s Party.
In the TRNC, the National Unity Party (UBP), which forms the government in the 50-seat Republican Assembly, has 24 deputies, the Democrat Party (DP) has 3 and the Rebirth Party has 2 deputies.
