These are the first trains purchased with PNRR funds directly assigned to Trenitalia: 60 million euros. The new hybrid from Trenitalia is produced by Hitachi and combines the latest generation train technology with the typical Intercity travel experience. The new vehicles will be sustainable, innovative and able to guarantee a more comfortable and ecological service thanks to reduced consumption and the triple power supply – electric, diesel and battery – which will allow CO2 emissions to be lowered by 83% compared to current fuel trains. diesel engine.

The new hybrid Intercity train is composed of 4 carriages for a total of 200 seats with seats covered in fabric 100% made from recycled plastics; seats dedicated to passengers with disability or reduced mobility and 8 bike spaces.

The presentation of the new hybrid train coincides with the launch of a new brand image Intercity: a new logoone livery renewed and new naming of the service levels, which become “Plus” for the first class and “Easy” for the second of the Giorno product; “Easy”, “Comfort”, “Relax” and “Superior” for the night.

Last year, on board the Intercity and Intercity night trains they traveled further 16 million people.
