Trailer for Arcane Season 2 could confirm tragic theory

The animated series Arcane, based on the video game League of Legends, is one of the most popular Netflix series ever. The mix of steampunk science fiction and fantasy landed in first place among the best-rated series in 2021 and trumps Moviepilot with one Rating of 8.4 even Netflix high-flyers like Stranger Things and House of Cards.

After an unbearably long wait of four years, Arcane is finally returning with new episodes this year. Although it still takes a few months to launch, Netflix has now released a first teaser trailer for season 2which reveals a horrific monster.

Arcane reveals the monster Warwick in the Season 2 teaser

At first glance, the first look teaser doesn’t reveal too much about the plot of the second season. We see scientist Singed hooked up to a machine. Above him, however, you can see a huge monster that will look familiar to League of Legends fans: it is the one that resembles a werewolf Creature named Warwick.

In the world of League of Legends, Warwick is a creature created through painful experiments who roams the dark alleys of the Zaun Undercity. As seen in the new Arcane trailer, parts of Warwick’s body are made up of pumps and vessels filled with greenish (alchemical) fluid. He literally has anger running through his veins.

If Warwick plays a central role in Arcane Season 2, a tragic theory could also be confirmed. Not all fans are convinced that Vander, the adoptive father of the main characters Jinx and Vi, really died.

Some even speculate that the believed-to-be-dead character nicknamed the “Hound of the Underworld” was destined to transform into Warwick from the start. For the sisters, who are on different sides, the return of their father figure in monster form would certainly be a painful turn of events.

When does Arcane Season 2 start on Netflix?

The new episodes of Arcane will be in November 2024 and will appear on Netflix exactly four years after the start of the first season. So far only the starting month is known.
