Top broker detained – allegedly defrauded estate of 13 million

The broker, who has a successful career behind him, has sold homes at a number of exclusive addresses in Stockholm.

Now he is in custody on suspicion of gross infidelity against the principal.

The suspicion is that he, together with another detained man, has embezzled close to SEK 13 million during a sale, which also The Express reported if.

– It concerns a property that has been sold by an estate. But none of the estate owners have been allowed to share the money because it is gone, says Chamber prosecutor Matias Garcia de las Bayonas.

Previously charged

SVT Nyheter reported on the broker last spring in connection with his losing his broker’s license. He has previously been charged with serious accounting offenses and serious fraud. Among other things, he allegedly lied about the final price when selling a villa in the Stockholm area.

The sellers were then told that the final price was SEK 6 million, the buyer that the final price was SEK 6.2 million – the difference of SEK 200,000 ended up in the broker’s own account.

According to the indictment, the broker bought a Range Rover the same day he got access to the money.

– It was pure circus, said the man who bought the villa to SVT last spring.

Record number of revoked licenses

The broker is one of 30 brokers who lost their license last year. It is the highest number of revocations that the Real Estate Agency, FMI, has ever made. A partial explanation, however, is that in recent years the authority has also revoked licenses when someone has not paid the annual fee.

The investigation into gross infidelity against the principal is in its final stages and charges are expected within a few weeks. SVT has sought the broker’s defense lawyer Slobodan Jovicic.
