Took selfie daily during hormone treatment

Video journalist Brendan McCann underwent gender reassignment and decided to take a picture every day during the first months of hormone treatment.
– The most surprising thing has been how supportive most people have been, both online and in direct contact, says Brendan in an interview
Daily Mail.

Brendan McCann from Florida decided to document the physical changes during eight months of hormone therapy. McCann took a selfie every day for the first eight months and compiled it into a video.

The 23-year-old, who uses hen as a pronoun, says the aim is to give other trans people the confidence to start hormone treatment.

– Many similar videos do not show a person who looks quite masculine and has a beard from the start. I thought it was important to start from the beginning.

– I have received messages from people telling me that my video gave them the confidence to start hormone therapy and that is very special. I wish I had a video like this when making my decision.

The video contains a total of 226 images showing how Brendan’s physical appearance noticeably changed over eight months.
