Jason “Timbuktu” Diakité receives Orust’s Evert Taube Award. The prize of SEK 50,000 is given to a lyricist who writes in the spirit of Evert Taube. The jury emphasizes that Jason Diakité has created a platform for the new Swedish poetry with “burning socially critical texts”. This year’s award winner admits in a press release that he doesn’t know much about Evert Taube:

“I don’t know much about Taube, but the honor of receiving an award in his name is huge as I understand that his lyrics are part of the Swedish national treasure. I thank and bow and hope that my best lyrics are ahead of me.”
