Timal: after the video of his abused dog, a more severe sentence?

Timal after the video of his abused dog a more

TIMAL. After Timal’s first conviction, the director of the Marseille SPA wants to file a complaint for a more severe complaint against the rapper, who filmed himself hitting his dog.

[Mis à jour le 02 septembre 2022 à 16h51] Timal condemned. Thursday, September 1, after pleading guilty before a judge of freedoms and detention, the court of Meaux pronounced his sentence: 6,000 euros fine and five years ban on keeping an animal. Arrested on Wednesday August 31, the French rapper had been presented to the prosecutor as part of an appearance on prior admission of guilt.

Asked by France 3, the director of the Marseille SPA considers that this sentence is “too light”. “It shouldn’t happen anymore today! It’s not normal to hit your dog and to appear doing it more (…) “We ask ourselves the question of filing a complaint or appealing against his conviction, we have to see with our lawyer to see what would be best.”

What will become of Timal’s dogs?

The abused dog and a second animal, baptized Vatos and Arya, were placed under the protection of the Action Protection Animale association, then placed in different foster families. “Fearful, they jump at the slightest sudden gesture, even urinating on them for little Arya… VATOS, the dog Timal kicks in his video, remained painful to handle and particularly at the level of the skull”, explained the association before the trial.

It should also be noted that, according to Le Parisien, Timal claimed before the judges that he had given the dog to his mother, before the video, which he describes as “old”. The rapper’s mother was placed in police custody for illegal acquisition of a first category dog: Vatos, an American Staffordshire Terrier, is considered a dangerous dog and is subject to a transfer and acquisition ban.

Timal’s controversial video

It was on Snapchat that Timal posted the famous video in which he hits his dog. A sequence of only a few seconds, which shocked many Internet users: we discover the rapper delivering three violent kicks on the head of the animal, frightened in his basket. In an image following this video, Timal showed his four-legged companion wearing a muzzle.

A controversy on Twitter around Timal

Causing an uproar on social networks with his video, Timal has also drawn the wrath of defenders of the animal cause such as journalist Hugo Clément or the Fondation Brigitte Bardotwho denounces “an inadmissible gesture” by the rapper and recalls that animal abuse is punishable by “4 years in prison and a fine of 60,000 euros when committed by the owner of the animal!”

Booba reacts to the Timal controversy

The video and photo of the assault have since been deleted by the perpetrator. However, many Internet users have called for a boycott of Timal, who recently collaborated with Booba. Faced with the controversy, the latter has also spoken on social networks to defend his “little brother.” “I hope you regret your gesture which is unacceptable, but not unforgivable”, begins B2O in a message posted on Twitter.

“They’ll be happy for your mistakes. I’ll be happy if you fix them. You screwed up on this one, but you’ll prove to them that you’re not bad. I’m disgusted with this whole thing, but it’s going to be fine. “Little brother. Some hit women and don’t suffer this media beating… May the force be with you”, adds Booba, describing the facts as “an episode certainly regrettable, but not insurmountable.”
