On Saturday, Thomas Gottschalk returns as moderator of another edition of Wetten, dass..? back to the ZDF program. While many fans eagerly await the new bets, Gottschalk lets the rumor mill seethe. The reason for this: his absence from the RTL show Because they don’t know what’s happening.
Together with Günther Jauch and Barbara Schöneberger, Gottschalk can usually be seen on the RTL show. Last Saturday, however, Schöneberger had to organize two temporary workers at the same time: Jauch couldn’t take part due to a corona infection and Gottschalk … because of a surfing course in Malibu?

Presumably no one in the audience bought the TV star’s excuse. That’s why DWDL went in search of clues and found out that Gottschalk, according to his ZDF contract, in the weeks before Wetten, dass..? in not allowed to appear on any other show. Gottschalk confirms the research to the industry magazine:
ZDF is jealous when she sees her best man two weeks before ‘Wetten, dass..?’ on RTL and threatened to withdraw my love if they caught me cheating. I fully understand!
The new edition of Wetten, dass..? will on November 19, 2022 broadcast on ZDF. Another one has already been confirmed for 2023. When and how it will continue after that is not yet certain. Gottschalk himself was recently open to the idea of bringing the popular TV format back beyond the two set editions.
