Don’t you feel safe walking outside? What if we told you that a small gadget, to slip into a bag, a jacket or a jeans pocket, could protect you from possible attacks. This idea is that of the young company Safee, from Marseille. She gave herself the mission of “fight against the insecurity that weighs on so many people on a daily basis”, they indicate on their site. For this, a team of professionals specializing in security has developed a phone accessory to allow you to move freely with complete peace of mind: the anti-aggression phone case. This was awarded an award at the Consumer Electronics Show 2023 in Las Vegas, which took place last January, and received the best global innovation in the Human Security category.
How does this anti-aggression phone device work?
Concretely, what does it look like and how does it work? The product designed by Safee looks like a simple phone case from the outside… Except that inside, it has a small electronic box with several very useful features. In the event of an attack, the person grabs their phone and can do 3 actions by simply pressing its shell: trigger a piercing 130 decibel alarm to alert those around you and scare away their attackers, send their position to emergency contacts beforehand defined, but also film the scene and preserve the evidence for several days. The case is also connected to a “companion” mobile application, via Bluetooth, which allows alerts to be sent to the loved ones concerned and to emergency services.
For the moment, the anti-aggression shell, priced at 59.90 euros, is only suitable for “latest iPhone models” (iPhone 12/12 Pro, iPhone 13/13 Pro, iPhone 14/14 Pro and all iPhone 15), specifies the company. However, Android owners can fall back on another “universal MagSafe compatible device that attaches to any phone”, Safee says in his question box.
